Design Guidelines for CNC Machining
| Feature | Description |

| Internal corner fillets | Sharp internal corners will naturally form radii due to round cutting tools; internal fillets should be 0.020"–0.050" larger than the standard tool radius, and drilled holes should follow a depth-to-diameter ratio of about 6:1 (4:1 recommended), with a maximum depth of 12× the drill diameter. |
| Undercuts | Undercuts such as square, full-radius, and dovetail profiles should be designed using standard dimensions and positioned away from internal corners to ensure proper cutting tool access and efficient CNC machining. |
| Tapped/threaded hole | For threaded holes, the recommended thread depth is about 3× the diameter for Ø1.5–5 mm threads and 4–6× the diameter for threads ≥ Ø5 mm. It is also recommended to include additional tool clearance slightly beyond the thread depth to ensure the threads are fully formed. |
